1. The president for life and his English speaking wife
made a bee-line for the waiting limousine
They got past the door, said "aeropuerto, por favor,"
They were confident they hadn't been seen.
The midnight fires glowed as they turned onto the road
He told her "darling, we're not out of it yet.
I won't have a moment's peace till I see the fake IDs
the rented police and the American jet."

2. The one for life before him had a sudden attack
he ate a canape before the dinner bell
The one before that shot himself in the back,
now they're trying to front their way out of hell.
"Oh honey, put your hand in mine, it'll stiffen my spine,
it isn't us," he told her, "it's just the age,
but look up at the moon, we'll be flying by it soon
and it's light will guide our ticket to the next exciting page."

3. Their feeling were immense, they were in the present tense,
they thought they saw the runway up ahead
but the limo driver stopped, he turned the headlights off
and before he gave the signal he said,
"it's been a horror story joke and our sleep has been revoked
while we've waited for the savior to appear,
I know your timetable's short but these trips to the airport,
sometimes you know they take a thousand years."
